Changelog
What is new and fixed in each version. The files of every version are on GitHub releases.
0.8.1
- New: Hide mine in the History view's title bar hides your own overs.
- Fixed: the Linked LED stayed amber (not linked) with a reflector copied to your list and edited. Fields left empty in your copy now keep the source's values, such as the dashboard and API, and a dashboard guessed from the XLX directory no longer reports "not linked" when it cannot tell.
0.8.0
- New: reflector sources. Besides your own reflectors, the list can take reflectors from the selection built into QDStar (now updated with each version), a URL, a file or a git repository, private ones included (with a token, or over SSH). See the manual.
- Reflectors from a source are read only: Copy to my list makes your own copy, which wins over the source's. Export my list… saves your reflectors as JSON, to share them or publish them as a source.
- Git passwords and tokens are kept in the system keyring (KWallet, GNOME Keyring or the Windows Credential Manager).
- The built-in reflectors you had not changed now come from the built-in source. The ones you changed or added stay in your list.
0.7.0
- New: click a row of the History to see that over again on the screen, with its date, duration, reflector and distance. ▶ LIVE, Esc or a new over bring back the live view. See the manual.
- New: the History, Log, D-PRS and Weather views can be detached into their own resizable windows, attached back or hidden, with a new View menu. QDStar remembers the layout. See the manual.
- Settings are split into four tabs (Interface, Radio, INT / EXT and APRS-IS), so the dialog fits on a laptop screen again.
- Fixed: distances of 1000 km or more were cut short on the screen ("1352 …").
0.6.1
- Manual: new screenshots of the settings, the system tray icon and the UR link commands. The application is the same as 0.6.0.
0.6.0
- New: your D-PRS position can go to APRS-IS (aprs.fi) after every over, in INT and EXT. Optionally, the positions of the stations heard too. The passcode is worked out from your call sign. See the manual.
- New: system tray icon with a green (RX) or red (TX) dot, a notification when a station comes on the air, and an optional setting to keep QDStar running in the tray when you close the window.
- New (EXT): link and unlink from the radio with UR commands, as with ircDDBGateway.
XLX214DLorXLX214 Dlinks,Uunlinks,Itells you the link andEruns an echo test. The radio shows the answer on its screen. See the manual. - Fixed: QDStar froze for several seconds when the History or D-PRS tab was refreshed while visible.
- Fixed (EXT): the TO goes back to CQCQCQ after linking. It never worked in EXT mode.
- Fixed: a possible crash when the radio's connection dropped while an error message was open.
- Fixed (EXT): a stream the radio refuses no longer leaves it unable to transmit.
0.5.4
- History: no TX/RX column; your own overs have the call sign in red. New column order: time (with the duration in brackets), call sign, name, distance, reflector, location and message.
- Screen: the distance box has an arrow pointing towards the station (north up). When the last over is yours, it shows a circle with a cross and MY.
0.5.3
- Your own overs are saved with your MY note (e.g.
/705), so the history and the screen's last station show it. - The screen footer shows the MY note next to your call sign.
0.5.2
- Help › User manual (F1) opens the online manual in the interface language.
- About links to the website, and its links open the browser correctly on Linux.
0.5.1
- Settings: new Note (/…) field to change the note after your call sign (e.g.
/705) without going through the radio's menus. QDStar writes it to the radio's MY call sign and confirms it in the log.
0.5.0
- Linux AppImage: QDStar offers to install itself for your user. It moves to
~/.local/bin/QDStar.AppImageand appears in the applications menu, with no administrator rights. Help has Install for this user… and Uninstall QDStar…. - Linux AppImage: Update now downloads the new version, checks its SHA-256, replaces the old one and restarts QDStar. No more replacing the file by hand.
- The manual explains the Linux installation in more detail.
